Amy received a collegiate athletic scholarship, another first for someone with Down syndrome. In 2021, she became the first person with Down syndrome to compete in a national collegiate championship. Then, in 2022, she earned a silver medal when competing in the Special Olympics USA Games. Amy also played in the Inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open at Pinehurst, NC.

2023 again saw Amy compete in the U.S. Adaptive Open and represent USA Special Olympics in the 2023 Special Olympics World Games. Amy advocates for inclusion for people with disabilities using her charismatic demeanor and steadfast determination to open improbable doors.

I Got This Foundation

As a Special Olympics Arizona representative, Amy played the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale with Gary Woodland during the 2019 WM Phoenix Open practice round. She hit her tee shot into a greenside bunker, which might have deflated most people. But not Amy. She parred the hole confidently, stating, “I got this!” That moment has over 60 million views and is the most-watched video in PGA TOUR history. The experience led Amy and her family to launch the I Got This Foundation, which promotes golf instruction and playing opportunities for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. “It is awesome to partner with a company from my home state that believes in me,” said Amy. “I am happy and proud to join the family at LVM Systems. We can do great things together to make a difference!”
